Systems Engineering
Among the most rewarding of technical work is the engineering into existence of a system that will reliably and will ably support "real world" users in the conduct of their mission. ASC has assembled the capability to bring a system into being, to develop it, install it, transition the user to the new system, and to support the system throughout its life cycle. The key to the development of complex systems is a structured approach with an emphasis on early and complete requirements analysis.
In addition, ASC is knowledgeable in the many military standards and specifications that constrain the development, test, and documentation of defense systems. ASC has developed system management techniques, such as quality assurance, configuration management, cost and schedule tracking, peer group review and approval, independent test teams, and design consistency reviews that ensure that a system development is successful.
Over the years, ASC has seen both equipment and software vendors offer more standardized and transportable designs, thus providing the opportunity for a system developer to avoid significant cost, schedule, and performance risks by incorporating off the shelf components into a system design. ASC has become adept at using such existing elements by keeping abreast of the market offerings of the various vendors and by honing our system integration skills.
